Speaking Outline

Yahweh is God's covenant name.
Yahweh is often translated in English as LORD. The meaningis that there is relationship. God is in control of my life.

The revelation of God is progressive.

The revelation of God is experiential.

When YHWH told Moses He was the "I Am" He was sayingthat He would act in the present. When people experienced

YHWH they knew more of his character. YHWH is my all in all.

He is the culmination of all.

The revelation of God is applicable to my life

When we call upon the name we can remember the event and apply all of it's truth to our present prayer.

YHWH Nissi
The Amalekites Defeated
8 The Amalekites came and attacked the Israelites at Rephidim. 9 Moses said to Joshua,
“Choose some of our men and go out to fight the Amalekites. Tomorrow I will stand on top of
the hill with the staff of God in my hands.”
10 So Joshua fought the Amalekites as Moses had ordered, and Moses, Aaron and Hur went to
the top of the hill. 11 As long as Moses held up his hands, the Israelites were winning, but
whenever he lowered his hands, the Amalekites were winning. 12 When Moses’ hands grew tired,
they took a stone and put it under him and he sat on it. Aaron and Hur held his hands up—one on
one side, one on the other—so that his hands remained steady till sunset. 13 So Joshua overcame
the Amalekite army with the sword.
14 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Write this on a scroll as something to be remembered and
make sure that Joshua hears it, because I will completely blot out the memory of Amalek from
under heaven.”
15 Moses built an altar and called it The Lord is my Banner. 16 He said, “For hands were lifted
up to the throne of the Lord. Thea Lord will be at war against the Amalekites from generation to
generation.”

• Until this point, YHWH fought for His people, but here YHWHY fought through
His people.

• The enemy quite often uses a sneak attack.

Deuteronomy 25:17–19 (NIV84)
17 Remember what the Amalekites did to you along the way when you came out of
Egypt. 18 When you were weary and worn out, they met you on your journey and cut off
all who were lagging behind; they had no fear of God. 19 When the Lord your God gives
you rest from all the enemies around you in the land he is giving you to possess as an
inheritance, you shall blot out the memory of Amalek from under heaven. Do not forget!

• The battle is won as hands are lifted high to YHWH. This is intercession. Victory
is won through prayer.

• Real are heroes are those who lift the hands of a friend as He calls out to the
LORD.

Genesis 22:1-19 (NIV)
Genesis 22
Abraham Tested
[22:1] Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
[2] Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, Isaac, whom you love, and go to the
region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains I will
tell you about.”
[3] Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. He took with him
two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt
offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. [4] On the third day Abraham
looked up and saw the place in the distance. [5] He said to his servants, “Stay here with
the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come
back to you.”
[6] Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he
himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, [7] Isaac
spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”
“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.
“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
[8] Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my
son.” And the two of them went on together.
[9] When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there
and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of
the wood. [10] Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. [11] But
the angel of the LORD called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.
[12] “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know
that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”
[13] Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram* caught by its horns. He
went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son.
[14] So Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On
the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”
[15] The angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time [16] and
said, “I swear by myself, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have
not withheld your son, your only son, [17] I will surely bless you and make your
descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore.
Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, [18] and through
your offspring* all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed me.”
[19] Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set off together for Beersheba.
And Abraham stayed in Beersheba.
Angel of the Lord
The Angel of the Lord is often considered to be the Jesus in the Old Testament before the incarnation. Jesus is the one who stopped Abraham from sacrificing his son knowingand provided the ram. Jesus knew the day would come when He would be the Son whowould be sacrificed and He was the Lamb of God.

God is both the provider and the provision

The Character of God Revealed

Abraham declared " God will provide" before they ever climbed the mountain. He knewthe character of God would be revealed at just the right moment. When you do not understand the circumstances of life, and you do not understand what God is doing, youmust rely on the character of God.

Faith and Obedience

Faith manifests itself as obedience. If you have faith you will be obedient.

The miracle supply you need will be given when you obey, when you walk your faith out.

YHWH Rapha
Exodus 15:22-27 (NIV)
The Waters of Marah and Elim
[22] Then Moses led Israel from the Red Sea and they went into the Desert of Shur. For
three days they traveled in the desert without finding water. [23] When they came to
Marah, they could not drink its water because it was bitter. (That is why the place is
called Marah.*) [24] So the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What are we to
drink?”
[25] Then Moses cried out to the LORD, and the LORD showed him a piece of wood.
He threw it into the water, and the water became sweet.
There the LORD made a decree and a law for them, and there he tested them. [26] He
said, “If you listen carefully to the voice of the LORD your God and do what is right in his
eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on
you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”
[27] Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees,
and they camped there near the water.

Hebrews 13:5-6 (NIV)
[5] Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have,
because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”*
[6] So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?”*
